Adelante Bolivia initiated a scholarship program for college students in Cochabamba, Bolivia, with the aim of improving educational opportunities for women and students from disadvantaged backgrounds studying technology related fields like computer science and engineering. Adelante Bolivia is partnering with the University of San Simón in Cochabamba, to provide two annual scholarships to students from the School of Science and Technology at the University with a least one scholarship being awarded to a young woman at the University. The goal of the scholarships is not only to provide financial support to needy students, but also to provide them with the opportunity to give back to their communities and to help others by serving as volunteers with Adelante Bolivia and assisting the organization with computer trainings. We feel it is vitally important that those who benefit also work to benefit others.
