Oscar was born and raised in California and graduated from the University of California Berkeley, with degrees in Economics and Public Policy. Always an avid traveler Oscar came to Bolivia in 2009, settling in the city of Cochabamba to work for Pro Mujer, a U.S.- Bolivian microfinance organization. There Oscar pursued his interest in economic development and his passionate advocacy for indigenous populations, working to secure small loans for poor, indigenous families.
Oscar’s work and travels across Bolivia exposed him to the immense needs throughout the country but also to the incredible beauty of the Bolivian culture and people. Oscar developed various grassroots educational initiatives for local community organizations in Bolivia before going on to co-found Adelante Bolivia.
